MEET YOUR LOCAL SPORTING CLUBS
Our six registered sporting clubs come from a wide range of sporting codes. From rugby league to swimming and hockey, to netball, basketball and cricket, they are all local clubs who need your support.
Find out more about each club below:
Gold Coast Hockey Association:
Gold Coast Hockey Association (GCHA) is the home of field hockey on the Gold Coast, bringing together more than 2,000 players, families, volunteers and supporters across seven affiliated clubs. With a proud history dating back to 1959, GCHA provides opportunities for everyone from first-time players and young juniors to senior, Masters and representative athletes. Our local hockey community has also helped develop players who have gone on to represent Australia. We are passionate about growing the game, developing players and creating a welcoming, inclusive community where everyone can play, connect and enjoy hockey.
By supporting the Gold Coast Hockey Association, the prize money will help us continue our FREE Friday Night Flicks U10 program in 2027, providing weekly skills, mini games and fun for all U10 children at the Gold Coast Hockey Centre. It will help us cover equipment and resources so every child can continue to participate at no cost.
North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball Club:
The North Gold Coast Seahawks are a community basketball club bringing people together through a shared love of the game since 1996. Based in Coomera, we offer junior and senior competitions, development programs and representative pathways, helping players of all ages and abilities build skills, confidence and friendships. Our club is powered by passionate players, families, coaches, referees and volunteers, alongside local schools, businesses and supporters. Together, we create a welcoming Seahawks community where everyone has the opportunity to get involved, grow and belong.
We’d put the prize money towards our introductory basketball programs, helping more young people experience the game for the first time. It would support equipment and accessible sessions where kids can learn the basics, build confidence and make new friends.
Runaway Bay Junior Leagues Club
Runaway Bay Junior Rugby League Football Club, is a proud community sporting club that was started in 1974, dedicated to providing junior players with a safe, inclusive and supportive environment to learn, develop and enjoy rugby league. The club encourages teamwork, respect, sportsmanship and personal growth both on the field and off. With dedicated coaches, volunteers, players and families, Runaway Bay Seagulls continues to build a strong community spirit while helping young players develop their skills, confidence and passion for the game.
Breakers Netball Club
Breakers Netball Club is a community purposed club that brings together players, coaches, families and supporters who share a passion for the game of netball and a commitment to our shared values – both on and off the court.
Through individual skill development, teamwork and the game of netball, our club endeavours to contribute positively to each member, both now and in the future. When you join Breakers Netball Club, you join more than a netball team – we are a community and a family.
The prize money will go directly to player experience. New equipment, specialised coaching and player uniforms are top priority.
Helensvale Swim Club
Helensvale Swim Club caters for everyone – whether you are a beginner under 8 swimmer having a go at our fun Friday night race night kick board races, or aiming to be our next National medallist. During the summer season we have regular race nights on a Friday night, and anyone is welcome to attend and try prior to joining. Once you are a member you can enter meets around the Gold Coast, Queensland and beyond.
The prize money will be used to purchase essential swim squad equipment, including stopwatches, specialised training equipment and secure equipment cages.
Having access to the right equipment will help us provide local children and families with quality opportunities in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
Equipment cages are also an important part of establishing a safe and organised training environment. They will provide secure storage for our growing collection of squad equipment, helping to keep poolside areas clear, equipment accessible and resources well maintained.
By investing in this equipment, we are investing in the future of our newest club community. This support will help us build a strong, sustainable swim squad at Runaway Bay and ensure local swimmers have access to the equipment, coaching and opportunities they need to participate, develop and thrive.
Runaway Bay Cricket Club
Established in 1978, Runaway Bay Cricket Club is a proud, family-focused community cricket club based at the Runaway Bay Sports Precinct. From juniors taking their first steps in cricket through to senior, women’s and veterans cricket, our goal is to provide a welcoming environment where people can play, develop and belong. Our club is built around our HEART values — Humility, Enjoyment, Attitude, Respect and Teamwork — and supported by an incredible network of players, families, volunteers, coaches, sponsors and members of the local community.
If Runaway Bay Cricket Club was fortunate enough to receive the $5,000 major prize, we would invest the funds directly back into our junior and community cricket programs, including training equipment, coaching resources and improvements that make cricket more accessible and enjoyable for local families.
